Marine Grade 5083 H34 Aluminum Strip Coil 2.0mm 1500mm Salt Spray Resistant Boat Hull Panel Strip

This marine grade 5083 aluminum strip coil is produced from 5083 magnesium alloy with 4.0-4.9% magnesium content, the highest magnesium level among common wrought alloys. That chemistry, combined with H34 strain hardening, delivers the salt water resistance, weldability and impact strength that boat builders and offshore fabricators require in a structural panel.

• Marine Grade 5083: 4.0-4.9% magnesium content gives the best seawater corrosion resistance of any non heat treatable alloy, with 500 hours salt spray without pitting.
• Salt Spray Resistant: no protective coating is required for hull and deck service, so fabrication scratches do not become corrosion starting points.
• H34 Temper Balance: 215-275 MPa tensile strength with 12% elongation, hard enough for structural panels and ductile enough for 180 degree bending and roll forming.
• Weldable Structure: MIG and TIG welding retain 90% of parent metal strength in the heat affected zone, so hull assemblies do not need riveted seams.
• Lightweight Payload Gain: at 2.66 g/cm3 density, a 2.0mm 5083 panel is about 35% lighter than an equivalent steel plate, improving speed and fuel consumption.

5083 H34 is specified where salt water, spray and vibration act together. The high magnesium content keeps the surface passive in chloride environments, and the strain hardened temper holds shape under repeated wave loading.

Used for hull plating, bottom and side shell, transom, deck and superstructure of fishing boats, workboats, patrol craft, landing craft and yachts in the 6-40m range. The 1500mm width reduces the number of longitudinal welds, cutting fabrication hours and improving hull fairness.

Supplied for container side panels, roof sheets and reefer body lining where salt laden road spray and washdown chemicals attack coated steel. The mill finish needs no paint for corrosion protection.

Used for gangways, walkways, platform decking, handrails and fish farming cages, where maintenance access is expensive and repainting cycles must be as long as possible.

Fabricated into fuel tanks, water tanks, engine room linings and ventilation ducting, benefiting from the alloy low crack sensitivity during welding and its resistance to bilge water.

Also used for trailer bodies, tipper truck panels, tanker shells and refrigerated truck lining, where the combination of low weight, weldability and corrosion resistance extends service life.

Applied to seaside facade panels, handrails, boardwalks and salt spray exposed structures where 3003 and 5052 grades would show early oxidation.
