Aluminum Strip Overview
1050 aluminum sheet is a commercially pure wrought alloy with 99.5% aluminum content. With 0.4% iron addition, it offers high electrical conductivity. 1060 aluminum sheet is similar to 1050 but contains more than 0.1% aluminum by weight. Both alloys meet ISO standards and cover different ASTM specifications.
1060 aluminum sheet contains 0.05% copper, providing 55% conductivity. This relatively low-strength, essentially pure aluminum alloy is available in various tempers including O (annealed), H12, H14, H16, and H18. Other commercial pure wrought aluminum sheets available include 1050, 1070, 1100 and more.
1060 aluminum coil features a flat surface, high cleanliness, excellent polymer welding compatibility, and product elongation. With adequate tensile strength, it meets conventional processing requirements (punching, drawing) with high formability, making it ideal for soft battery connections, aluminum-plastic panels, lighting fixtures, signage, and other applications.
Aluminum Series Characteristics
  • 1000 Series: Contains the highest aluminum content (over 99.00%), offering excellent electrical conductivity, corrosion resistance, and welding performance with moderate strength for conventional industrial use.
  • 2000 Series: High hardness with 3-5% copper content, enhanced by manganese, magnesium, lead and bismuth for improved machinability, primarily used in aviation applications.
  • 3000 Series: Primarily composed of manganese (1.0-1.5%), providing superior rust prevention, excellent corrosion resistance, weldability, and plasticity.
  • 5000 Series: Main element is magnesium, featuring low density, high tensile strength, excellent elongation, and good fatigue strength, though not heat-treatable for strengthening.
  • 6000 Series: Contains magnesium and silicon, suitable for applications requiring corrosion resistance and oxidation protection.
  • 7000 Series: Aerospace-grade aluminum-magnesium-zinc-copper alloy, heat-treatable super hard aluminum with good wear resistance and weldability, though corrosion resistance is moderate.
